Love
God is Love.
1 John 4:8 (KJV)
What is Love?
The apostle Paul in the Bible gives us a look at God’s Love to us and how we are to love everyone.
Love is willing to hang in there for the long haul;
........Love is always ready to do something for someone else;
Love does not begrudge others their success;
........nor flaunt its own.
Love is not arrogant or rude,
........it doesn’t force its own agendas
................and trample others down in the process.
Love does not spit the dummy over every little thing
........or hold grudges and dream of revenge.
Love takes no pleasure in dishonesty, however daring;
........but it is the first to celebrate truth and integrity.
Love holds firm under pressure,
........keeps believing the best of others,
................maintains its hope when all seems lost,
........................and toughs it out, no matter what.
Love is forever!
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (Laughing Bird Paraphrase)

The 10 Types of Love found in the New Testament
Written by David Breed
The New Testament has a lot to say about the subject of love. In fact the Greek language is more expressive than many other languages, this means that a words used in every sentence are very precise to the situation.
Here is a short count down of the ten words I found as I studied on this subject.
10 - Eros - the Hebrew counterpart of this word is Ahavah (HB 0160) - Romantic/Intimate/Physical Love - God is very clear in the Bible that eros love is reserved for marriage. Eros love is to be celebrated and enjoyed as beautiful blessing from God. Proverbs 5:18–19, Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 7:3 & 5, Ecclesiastes 9:9, Song of Solomon 1:2-4
9 - Philédonos - (GK5369) - Lovers of Pleasure More than God (2 Timothy 3:4) - Dangerous - Wrong Path
8 - Theló - (GK 2309) - A Love and Desire, to be Determined to Hold onto Something with Purpose Whether Good or Bad - Mark 12:38 - A Love of Holding onto their Traditions
7 - Philotheos - (GK 5377) - Lovers of God - 2 Timothy 3:4
6 - Philostorgos - (GK 5387) A Devoted, Tender, Longing Love to Family - Romans 12:10 - Natural & Spiritual Family
5 - Philoteknos - (GL 5388) - Loving Your Children - Titus 2:4
4 - Phileó - (GK 5368) - Friendship Love - Titus 3:15
3 - Philadelphia - (GK 5360) Brotherly love - Hebrews 13:1 - Keeping Love for One Another
2 - Agapoa - (GK 25) verb - To Take Action and Love Others with Your Life - This is the word we know so well in John 3:16. “For God so loved the world.”
1- Agape - (Gk 26) - The Unconditional Love of God - The Highest Form of Love - John 5:42, 13:35, 15:13
Jesus gave us the Love Command
Matthew 22:36-40 (NKJV)
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
This is very interesting to see that Jesus says the first commandment is to love God. It only makes sense because he loved us first. All of us deep down in our heart of hearts loves God. If Jesus said we can do this, then we can do this. There is no excuse.
I looked up the word neighbor one time. The word neighbor means anyone standing next to you. So Jesus is showing us that anyone that is standing next to us we need to show the love of God to them. If Jesus said we could do this, then we can do this. There is no excuse.
Jesus would not give us something to do that we cannot do. It is such a joy to love God. And he loves us all so much. How much more should we be loving him every day. Have you love God today? Right now is a good time to love Him.
JESUS IS LOVE
THE ART OF UNCONDITIONAL FORGIVENESS
Notes by David
1 What does the bible has to say about unconditional forgiveness?
2 How was I healed from Unconditional Forgiveness
3 We want to - Pray for you!
4 How to stand strong on your mountain top of life and not get knocked off your mountain
PRINCIPLE
Forgiveness brings health not only to ourselves - but it also brings health to our whole community!
1) THE BIBLE AND THE WORDS OF JESUS
1 Corinthians 13:8
Love never fails! (It never dies)
It will never fall down to the ground - It will never lose - it will always be powerful -- it is a divine promise of salvation!
Matthew 18:21-22
PETER HAS A DEEP QUESTION ABOUT FORGIVENESS
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. (490 TIMES)
THE WORD JESUS USES HERE IS FROM THE GREEK
aphiēmi - 863 - GK - a fee a mee - ya feel me?
Forgive - - To Put Away, To Let Go, To expire To End
Jesus is saying lets put this thing to an end right now, let’s use the power of unconditional forgiveness.
IF JESUS SAID WE CAN DO IT THEN WE CAN DO IT!
Jesus is teaching about unconditional forgiveness. WOW!!!!!! REMEMBER EVERYTHING JESUS TAUGHT WAS ABOUT LIFE - AN ABUNDANT LIFE OF FREEDOM!
FORGIVENESS CAN BE A HARD THING TO DO! IF IT WAS EASY EVERYONE WOULD BE DOING IT!
WE HAVE ALL BEEN CRUSHED BY OTHERS
HOW GOD TAUGHT ME ABOUT FORGIVENESS
1) MY STORY HOW GOD TAUGHT ME ABOUT FORGIVENESS - LIVING IN UNFORGIVENESS IS PAINFUL - I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE
Acts 7:54-60 UNCONDITIONAL LOVE OF STEPHAN - Stephen Is Stoned to Death
59 As Stephen was being stoned to death, he called out, “Lord Jesus, please welcome me!” 60 He knelt down and shouted, “Lord, don’t blame them for what they have done.” Then he died.
Stephan showed me how to forgive.
(ERV) “Lord, don’t blame them for this sin!
(GoodNews) Do not remember this sin against them!”
GOD taught me - They don’t know any better
God said I had a choice to make - a big choice that would effect my future if I didn’t change - and thank God I took that choice.
“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.”
PRINCIPLE - Forgiveness brings health not only to ourselves - but it also brings health to our whole community!
2) LET’S TAKE A MINUTE TO PRAY AND FORGIVE OTHERS RIGHT NOW.
If we have any unforgiveness in our hearts to anyone for anything they might have done to us - it is time to forgive them unconditionally and let it go.
FOR OUR FAITH TO WORK JESUS SAYS WE NEED TO FORGIVE OTHERS OR OUR HEAVENLY FATHER WILL NOT FORGIVE US!
A PROFOUND STATMENT - Jesus said:
Mark 11:25-26
25 When you are praying and you remember that you are angry with another person about something, forgive that person. Forgive them so that your Father in heaven will also forgive your sins.”
Greek: “But if you don’t forgive others, then your Father in heaven will not forgive your sins.”
Ephesians 4:32
32 Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.
1 John 1:9
9 If we tell Him our sins, He is faithful and we can depend on Him to forgive us of our sins. He will make our lives clean from all sin.
Isaiah 55:7
Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
3) NOW LETS SEE HOW TO STAND STRONG IN UNCONDITIONAL FORGIVENESS - REMEMBER FORGIVNESS IS PART OF OUR SALVATION.
How do you stand strong on your mountain and not get knocked off your mountain?
Paul shows us how!
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (MSG)
Love never gives up.
It never fails!
REMEMBER IF JESUS SAID WE CAN WALK EVERYDAY IN UNCONDITINAL LOVE AND FORGIVENESS - THEN WE CAN.

OUR MAIN TEXT FOR THIS SERIES
1 Corinthians 13:8
Love never fails! (It never dies)
Greek word ekpiptō 1601 = Never Fails = It will never fall down to the ground - It will never lose - it will always be powerful .
LITERAL TRANSLATION OF THIS VERSE - it is a divine promise of salvation!
1 - A LIFE CHANGING BIBLE VERSE
Psalm 145:8-9
The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy/compassion. The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies (love & compassion) are over all his works.
In the Bible, compassion and mercy mean the same.
The Hebrew noun rachamin is translated both "mercy and "compassion."
The Greek verb eleeo is translated "have mercy" and "have compassion"; and likewise, the Greek adjective eleemon is defined "merciful-compassionate.
To have compassion is to love tenderly, to pity, to show mercy, to be full of eager yearning.
THE BIBLE SAYS GOD IS PLENTEOUS IN MERCY - COMPASSION
Psalm 103:8-17
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous/full in mercy/compassion.
Psalm 86:5
5 O Lord, you are so good and kind, so ready to forgive, so full/plentous of mercy/compassion for all who ask your aid.
2 - JESUS IS COMPASSION IN ACTION
LEARNING OF JESUS GREAT COMPASSION AND LOVE FOR US SPARKS FAITH FOR THE IMPOSSIBLE!!
During Jesus earthly ministry He was everywhere moved with compassion, and healed all "them that had need of healing."
INSTANCES OF THE LORD'S COMPASSION
Let us look at a few passages from the Gospels, showing the Lord's compassion.
Mark 1:40-45
And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.... and they came to him from every quarter.
Here it was compassion that moved Christ to heal this leper.
JESUS LOVES YOU! WANTS YOU TO HAVE TOTAL
AND COMPLETE LIFE IN EVERY-WAY - EVERYDAY!!!
Romans 10:12-13
12 … Lord of all richly blesses all who call on him. 13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Herbrew word - TO SAVE = TO BE SAFE - TO LIVE - TO HAVE LIFE
Greek word - sōzō - TO KEEP SAFE AND SOUND- BE WHOLE -- ETERNALLY SAFE AND SOUND
Matthew 14:13-14
He departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities. And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
Here He was "plenteous in mercy" to "all that had need of healing." It was His compassion that moved Him.
These blind men asked for the mercy/compassion to have their eyes opened. Jesus granted them the mercy/compassion of healing, proving that healing is a mercy/compassion as well as forgiveness.
The sick, in those days, when seeking healing, asked for mercy/compassion. In our day most people think of mercy as only for the sinner, not knowing that His mercy/compassion is also extended to the sick.
Jesus never changes - He is compassionate towards us today! HE IS THE SAME YESTERDAY TODAY AND FOREVER!
3 - PRAYER FOR MIRACLES - BE EXPECTING GOD!!
SAME JESUS IS HERE TODAY!!
Praying for you!
4 - JESUS TALKS ABOUT HIS ENDLESS COMPASSION AND YOU!
John 17:21-26
21 My prayer for all of them is that they will be of one heart and mind, just as you and I are, Father—that just as you are in me and I am in you, so they will be in us, and the world will believe you sent me.
26 I have revealed to them who you are and I will continue to make you even more real to them, so that they may experience the same endless love that you have for me, for your love will now live in them, even as I live in them!”
A SERIOUS CHALLENGE OF SHARING GREAT LOVE
John 13:35-37
35 For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.”
This deep and burning love and compassion He has for us he wants us to love others .
REMEMBER - THE LIFE CHANGING BIBLE VERSE
Psalm 145:8-9
The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy/compassion. The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies (love & compassion) are over all his works.
