Psalm 37:23
One time in my life as I was praying I knew in my heart I needed to attend bible college. I talked with my Pastor and he told me, “No, David you don’t need to go to bible college”. Over a two year period of time I kept getting the same thing in my heart that I needed to go to bible college. I would go talk with my pastor and he would tell me the same thing, “No, David you don’t need to go to bible college”. At that time I was helping him with everything in the church. I would be there early every Sunday morning and Wednesday nights to help any way I can. I knew my pastor loved me and wanted me to stay around the church to help him and the vision that God gave to him. I was happy there in the church helping with the vision God gave to the church but there was something down in my heart, down on the inside of me that kept telling me I needed to go to bible college.
This bible college that I was thinking about attending was over one thousand miles away from where I was living. But that did not matter I needed to follow what my heart and what God was telling me to do.
The Lord told me again, “David you need to go to bible college and you must graduate in the year 1996.” Wow, I thought to myself is a very specific time period. Then God went on to tell me,” Procrastination is a thief to the blessing, do not procrastinate any longer, go to bible college”. So I did what God put in my heart to do. I attended the bible college and when I graduated in 1996 that was the year that I met Carol Joy, my wife. I am so glad I obeyed the promptings that God put in my heart. Always follow your heart!

It’s Simple?
When we talk about God’s direction for our lives, our most basic consideration is our desires.
The desires of your heart can and should be a clear indicator of God’s will for you.
God has plans for our lives long before we are born. They are blessed plans. When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit leads us to follow God's plans for our lives, so that we may bear fruit for God's kingdom.
Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it…. —Psalm 127:1
Notice in this scripture, that they did build the house. They got it built, all right, but their labor was all in vain because the Lord wasn't in it. So many times in the ministry, what we do is good, but it is not the Lord's plan at all. It is man's plan.
Psalm 127:1 refers to more than just building a house. Of course, in the natural, if God is not in whatever you are doing, it will fail. But the Bible is talking here about spiritual things as well.
Whatever you are doing for God, ask yourself, Is this God's plan? Remember, if the Lord is not building the house, all your labor is in vain. You can build an entire house and yet not have any part of it built according to God's plan. This verse points out that they had to labor to build it because God was not in it. Get God involved in whatever you are doing. Find out what His plan is before you ever begin to build.
It is easy to stray from God's plan. Ministers especially are susceptible to straying from God's plan with something which seems right, good, and legitimate. But if God didn't tell them to do it, and it is not His plan for them, they end up pursuing the wrong plan. When this happens, they forfeit the fullness of God's blessing.
Kenneth Hagin, a very successful minister, once said, “The only secret of success I know is walking in line with the Word of God, and praying and listening to the Holy Spirit. I simply listen to what the Spirit of God says to do, and then do it. Actually, everything I'm doing today is the result of believing the Word, praying in other tongues, and being obedient to what God told me to do. Thank God for the value of praying in other tongues.” From the Book Plans, Purposes and Pursuits..
Could it be that simple? Yes! Get with God today and find your true plan and purpose for your life. And live a life full of adventure with God.
